They just aren’t bringing in enough money consistently.
Lack of revenue is the number one reason that most online businesses fail.
I’m willing to bet that if you could wave a magic wand to change one thing in your business, it would be to bring in more traffic.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could get more website traffic and customers without doing any extra work?
You’re not alone on this, either. Even veteran Woocommerce store owners, like Brian Luoma, need more customers.
He’s built a great system for closing sales and interacting with clients. It’s called GizmoPlans.com .
Here is a list of what I did to increase Gizmoplans.com‘s organic traffic:
- Blogging/Content Marketing
- Meta Description Optimization
- Meta Title Optimization
- Meta Tag Optimization
- Page Speed Optimization Consulting
- Conversion Tracking Consulting
- Robot.Txt File Optimization
- Disavowed Toxic Backlinks
- Sitemap Optimization
- General Internet Marketing Consulting
- Competitor Analysis
- SEO Auditing
Brian has been pretty much been self-employed his entire life. He has a lot of experience designing and creating all sorts of DIY projects for businesses and homes.
ESTABLISHING BRIAN’S GOALS
I realized that despite doing great work, Brian needed more customers. The best way for us to accomplish this was through investing in SEO. Read about the benefits of SEO for online stores below.
SEO Benefits for Online Stores
- Driving brand awareness.
- Filling the marketing funnel.
- Elevating content.
- Expanding remarketing audiences.
- Capturing the long tail.
- Improving the user experience.
- Lowering paid search costs.
- Creating lasting value.
I focused on three primary goals for this project.
- Increase his organic traffic.
- Increase his main keyword search rankings (primarily in Google).
- Increase the number of conversions (visitor to customer) from his website.
Brian was nervous, and rightfully so. Search Engine Optimization is a sketchy world. He gets emails every day from “agencies” claiming they can help when they’ll really just destroy his website.
What if my work didn’t work for him? What if it made things worse?
Could he really afford to have LESS Customers?
WANT TO STEAL MY SEO SECRETS?
Google relentlessly changes its ranking algorithm in order to make search results better for people.
However, I know that some factors matter way more than others in SEO.
Below are the three things that I do to ensure success for our clients.
- Create High-Quality Content – No matter what niche the content is for or where it will be posted, these three characteristics are a must for quality content: Informative, Interesting, and Relevant.
- Improve Page Speed – Page speed is a direct ranking factor, a fact known even better since Google’s Algorithm Speed Update. However, speed can also affect rankings indirectly, by increasing the bounce rate and reducing dwell time.
- Improve Meta Data – Usually, websites have meta descriptions, meta titles, and meta tags that are not optimized.
Meta Titles
A meta title is an important part of website optimization, and it’s distinct from the headline on the page itself. It acts as a name tag for the web page. The title is displayed on your browser tab and tells you what page you’re on. Meta titles are also read by search engine robots and seen by users searching the web. Meta titles can increase click-through rates.
Meta Descriptions
The meta description is a snippet of up to about 155 characters – a tag in HTML – which summarizes a page’s content. Search engines show the meta description in search results mostly when the searched-for phrase is within the description, so optimizing the meta description is crucial for on-page SEO. Meta descriptions can increase click-through rates.
Meta Tags
Meta tags (H1, H2, etc.) are snippets of text that describe a page’s content; the meta tags don’t appear on the page itself, but only in the page’s source code. Meta tags are essentially little content descriptors that help tell search engines what a web page is about.
MEASURABLE RESULTS
Check out the increase in organic traffic in the screenshot below.
2021 UPDATE:
Also, check out our content portfolio to see rankings from blog posts that I created. Below is an example of a blog post that was written on Gizmoplans.com.
- It ranks #1 for: “Welding Undercutting” and “What Is Undercutting In Welding?”
We were able to get GizmoPlans.com first page rankings for target keywords like:
- Metal Fabrication Plans
- Concrete Equipment Plans
- DXF Files For Plasma Cutting
WHAT I LEARNED ALONG THE WAY
One of the books that I’ve read again and again is the E-Myth by Michael Gerber. In the book, Michael explains that technicians are the reason most businesses fail. A “technician” is a person who thinks that because they’re good at a skill, they can run a business that sells that skill.
Too many online store owners assume that because they are good (or even great!) at creating a website, they can run an online business successfully.
CLOSING
SEO is hard and it’s only getting harder. However, it’s the most important investment you can make in your store, online or offline.
You have two options: You can try to replicate the work that I did for Brian yourself, or you can let EcomDynamix handle it so you can focus on other things.
If you’re going to do it, get it done right the first time.
